Travel the globe with stories, costumes, toys, music and hands-on creative activities. The one hour FACES program promotes age-appropriate language skills.

Archaeo-Project
The Archaeo-Project is specially designed to excite students about Florida's past. Each workshop includes visual, physical and audio learning methods such as crafts, worksheets and hands-on activities. Archaeo-Project incorporates Sunshine State Standards and FCAT skills into every workshop.

Grades 1-5
The Ocean and Its Life
Dive right into ocean life through a colorful collection of shells, coral and "live" sea creatures that exists at Florida 's back door. Take part in a fun role-playing simulation where students will learn the importance of the protection of this delicate ecosystem. Create your own "porcupine fish" to take home.

A Little Bit of Opera
Introduce your students to an engaging opera experience. Designed to stimulate the imagination, intellect and musicality of young people, the program inspires youngsters to appreciate the history and sounds of opera music. Yes, there's a little bit of opera in all of us!

The Golden Trunk of Chamber Music
Open the "golden trunk" to a new adventure in chamber music. Created through a partnership with the Gold Coast Chamber Music Festival Society, students take part in handicrafts and small group activities. Early training in classical music is the next musical frontier!

Astonishing Astronomy
Travel through " A Space Place " developed by Jet Propulsion Laboratories/NASA and learn about our galaxy of stars, constellations, sun, moon, and planets. Use Newton 's Laws of Motion to experiment with toys that our own astronauts used in space on the shuttle and create your own glow-in-the-dark viewer!

Kites
Fly high with this Traveling Museum presentation developed out of the "Kite Tales" exhibition from the Smithsonian Institution! Kites have a long and distinguished history that includes use in war and in civil engineering, as well as recreational flying. Your students will learn while building a kite of their own.

Weaving
Stitch your way to learning about the wonderful world of weaving! This multi­-cultural approach was developed from the exhibit "Egyptian Tapestries" by the Indianapolis Children's Museum. Students learn simple weaving techniques, view samples from different countries, and create their own hand-woven master­pieces.

The Florida Seminoles
View the collection of American-Indian artifacts and photographs from the turn-of-the-century. Experience the Seminoles of the past and present in this unit developed out of "Hand & Eye: The Arts of the Florida Indians" from Southern Arts Federation. Students participate in a folklore legend and learn to make belts with Seminole patterning.

South Florida Pioneers
Be a pioneer for a day! Developed out of the "Family Folklore" exhibit from the Smithsonian Institution, students will experience the lives of Florida pioneers through relics and authentic clothing and folk art activities.
