Summer Classes Updated

Our programs include:

Tots in Motion

Imagination Station

Inspiration Station

Introduces young children to the arts and exposes them to a variety of beginning mediums designed to introduce basic art vocabulary and encourage new skills development through this activity-based studio art class. Children will be introduced to clay, charcoal drawing, painting, design, montage, watercolors, sculpture, and more! Children will be given opportunities to explore, create, and achieve.

Sensory Arts

Children are exposed to an intensive multi-media experience that involves painting, collage, music, and movement. They develop an awareness of their environment through the manipulation of materials, and sensory awareness is expanded through the activities that stimulate hearing, sight, and touch.

Story Telling

Story Telling includes the reading of quality children’s storybooks and poetry books appropriate and challenging for children of all ages. Some Story Time sessions are augmented by the addition of music, interactive theater, puppetry and impromptu storytelling. When there is no Story Time scheduled, children and their caregivers are encouraged to choose a book from the children’s library and read together.

Imagination Playground

Children take the lead while playing with this mobile block-based play system. Open-ended play with large foam blocks inspires creativity, critical thinking skills, collaboration, and physical activity.  Play sessions may be either indoors or outdoors.

Creation Stations

There are 3 revolving hands-on art and/or science project stations set up to provide opportunities for children to imagine, explore, create and invent.

The Traveling Museum

Outreach programs at the Children’s Museum include:  The Traveling Museum; FACES, Multicultural Reading Program and Archaeo Project. Thirteen of the educational programs are aligned with Florida Sunshine State Standards and have been approved by Palm Beach County Schools for delivery in the classroom or as a field trip supplement.

The Traveling Museum outreach programs include 25 educational programs that are presented in the Museum or offsite in schools and community centers.  The Traveling Museum continues to enrich and promote integrated arts curricula with history, humanities, and sciences to children from preschool through the middle school.  As testament to its teachers and subject matter, schools leading in FCAT scoring have consistently used these programs year after year!

Other outreach programs include ART + STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering + Math) educational program provided at schools and/or other child caring agencies by expert museum staff.
